When I was in my late teens and early twenties I always had this idea of where I would be in my life by the time I turned thirty.  I used to think thirty was so old and could hardly imagine being thirty because it seemed so far off in the future. Before I knew It I was 28 years old fresh out of a long-term relationship at a job I hated and unrelated to what I studied in University. I have always been a creative person and envisioned myself doing something different and entrepreneurial with my life. I always felt like a square peg in a round hole because I didn’t want to conform and take the standard route in life.   I just knew that there was something more to my life that what I was currently doing and wanted to take a risk, so I decided to quit my job and move back to Victoria and live with my parents. I had no plan in mind, but I knew that I had to get out of my current situation and take some time to reflect.

It was hard for me when I moved back to Victoria because I felt like everyone was judging me because I wasn’t established and didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I decided to take a part-time job working at a clothing store as a way to meet new people and save some money while I figured things out. After a few months of working there, I decided to start blogging as a way to express my creativity. From day one I became obsessed with blogging and posted five days a week for over three years. Blogging has changed my entire life, and I can only owe it to those moments where I was lost and at a fork in a road. After watching the film The Expiry Date I felt so sad and moved because it was so relatable to what I went through in my late twenties. I feel like there is so much pressure on women to get married and have kids by a certain age. I think the best things in life can happen to you when you are single because it allows you to grow as a person and live your own life without the feeling of an expiry date. You are never too old to change your destiny without the fear of being expired. SK-II  has empowered women to challenge the norms and live their own life without the social pressures put upon us. Anyone can change their situation and life and should be proud in doing so.
