On Tuesday I went for a Festive Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress. It was a lovely afternoon filled with decadent treats, Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne and traditional afternoon tea. I couldn’t finish all of my desserts, so I decided to bring them home with me along with a slice of chocolate Empress Cake. I told myself that I wouldn’t eat it all that evening, but once I had a few bites, I couldn’t resist the temptation and ate it all. Afternoon the afternoon tea I had a tour of the massive gingerbread chocolate village. Everything was edible in the village including the giant mountain made of solid chocolate. I can only imagine how long it would take to build something this extravagant.
