The first time I saw Breakfast at Tiffany’s I fell in love with the movie and the idea of living in New York during the 1960s. I adore the way Holly Golightly decorates her apartment with the stacked luggage as a coffee table and the claw foot bathtub couch. The fashion in this film is very inspiring and still very relatable today. Breakfast at Tiffany’s set the standard for the little black dress and the beige trench coat.
Here is my favourite quote from the movie:
“You know what’s wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You’re chicken, you’ve got no guts. You’re afraid to stick out your chin and say, “Okay, life’s a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.” You call yourself a free spirit, a “wild thing,” and you’re terrified somebody’s gonna stick you in a cage.
