Along The Way

Biossance, The Revitalizer, The Refresher, Clean Beauty

Makeup removing cloths and moisturizer c/o Biossance

Now that festival season is in full swing and summer is just around the corner I just wanted to share some of my beauty essentials for the upcoming season. I love these Makeup Removing Cloths for travelling because they are super easy to pack in your bag. I find that one cloth takes off all of my makeup and leaves me skin feeling refreshed. You can also use these wipes on a hot day as a quick refresher and pick me up. These cloths are biodegradable and use an all natural blend of antioxidants. The Revitalizer moisturizer has been my go to for everything from my face, body and hair. It is made from 100% plant-derived Squalane and is EWG verified. I find that it works wonders in my hair especially if I apply a small amount on my wet hair after I get out of the shower. If you still haven’t found the perfect Mother’s Day gift I would highly recommend something from Biossance especially since they are having a crazy Mother’s Day sale on right now. You can also use the promo code LOVELAURA to receive 10% off your order of $50 or more valid until 4/30.

Honest Beauty, Review, The Honest Company, Jessica Alba

Makeup and skincare c/o Honest Beauty

After trying some products from The Honest Company I was immediately hooked and became a huge fan of Jessica Alba. I use this Sweet Orange Vanilla shampoo and body wash on a daily basis and absolutely love the way it makes my skin and hair feel. Soon after I discovered that Jessica Alba has a separate beauty and skincare line called Honest Beauty and I knew I had to try it. For a few weeks now I have been trying a bunch of her makeup and skin care products and here are my thoughts. First of all I love the high end packaging and the affordable price point. It is nice that this line is accessible to everyone instead of being super expensive like some skin care and beauty lines.

Honest Beauty Even Brighter Everyday Moisturizer: This is a great light weight moisturizer with a beautiful aroma of essential oils and it helps to brighten and even out your skin tone. I like this as a day time moisturizer because it’s not too heavy.

Magic Balm:  I use this magic balm under my nose before I apply my foundation and it works like a dream to seal in moisture. It also works as a great highlighter on your cheek bones.

The Younger Eye Cream:  This is a really lovely eye cream especially for sensitive eyes, a little goes a long way and it helps to soothe and minimize fine lines.

Everything Primer: I have been in search of a primer that won’t clog my pores and make my skin look radiant. I think I just hit the jack pot with this one.

Concealer Duo:  This is a perfect compact concealer to carry in your purse with two shades in one so you can get the perfect match. It blends really well and works like a dream under my eyes.

Cream Foundation: I love this foundation because of the compact applicator and mirror. It goes on evenly and lasts all day while reducing shine and the appearance of fine lines.

Luminizing Powder: This is a lovely talc free face powder that I apply after my foundation to give my skin a radiant glow.

Truly Kissable Lip Crayon: This lip crayon is so fun because of the bright colour and moisturizing capabilities. I have been using it all the time as my go to lip colour for my photo shoots.

Lip Gloss: This is a perfect lip gloss to throw in your purse because it delivers a high shine and is easy to apply and moisturizes your lips at the same time.

Elixir and Co, Essential Oils

Roll on essential oils c/o Elixirs & Co

I have been using these roll on essential oils as a stress relief. I use the Urgency one during the day while I work and the Depression one at night to calm my nerves. I roll them around my nose because I find the scent to be very relaxing and soothing.

Pet Illustration, watercolour illustration, custom pet portrait , cat portrait

I recently created a custom illustration of my friends cat. If anyone else is interested in a custom pet portrait please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Antique bone china, shabby chic decor, vintage tea cup

I have been going to the auction lately and scored on some really cute vintage items this week. I decided that I am going to photograph and style all of my vintage finds every week and try illustrating them for practice. I really love the floral designs on this vintage bone china.

Vintage general electric blender, vintage juice jug

I couldn’t pass up this vintage General Electric hand mixer and glass juice jug.

Vintage cake stand, macarons, paris, france, Marie Antoinette

I had to get these cute Parisian statues because they reminded me of Marie Antoinette and I love how they go with my vintage cake stand that I scored this week.

My mom gave me oils similar to these for depression and they do work very well. It is so much better than using medication.
