I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. Labour Day weekend is always bittersweet because it means that summer is pretty much over. This summer went by so fast for me because I was incredibly busy and didn’t get to take a plunge in a body of water or lounge on a beach. Hopefully, September will be warm, and I can go for a swim. I can already tell that the seasons are changing based on the light levels and the warm color of the light. It has evolved from stark to nice and golden which is always perfect for photos.
Last Sunday my mom and I went to a croquet tournament at the Empress. It was a lovely affair filled with vintage fashion, craft cocktails, culinary delights and a civilized Croquet tournament in the front lawns of the Fairmont Empress. We didn’t play croquet, but instead, we lounged in the comfortable lounge furniture while sipping retro Pimm’s Cups. We also ate a three-tiered tray filled with sweet and savory snacks. I loved seeing all of the vintage-inspired outfits and reminiscing about what it would be like playing croquet on the same front lawn over a hundred years ago.
