Dress c/o Chic Wish
I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day! I went out for Sushi with my mom, dad, and younger brother. I went thrifting on Saturday with Andrew, and then we went out for Pho, and a did a round of Par 3 golf. I took these photos during the worst possible time of day because the sun was super bright since it was mid-afternoon. When I went in the shade, the shadows would cast on my face and then I finally figure out how to capture a decent photo during the mid-afternoon sun. I made sure that the sun was always behind me instead of facing me. I always follow this rule when I shoot during the golden hour, but I figured that the sun was too high in the sky to make a difference during peak hours. I usually try to avoid shooting in the afternoon in the late spring and summer and aim to shoot after six but sometimes life happens and I can’t. If you can find a nice spot in the shade with not too many harsh shadows that also works. It took me a while to figure out how to work with light when taking photos. I think the best rule is to always have the sun behind you instead of on your face. I love this floral chiffon dress from Chic Wish because the color is so pretty and the long sleeves are perfect for Spring. Since this dress is a lightweight chiffon fabric, you could also wear it in the summer and use it to protect your arms from the sun. I am very fair even though I have dark hair and always find ways to minimize my sun exposure during peak hours in the summer.
