Hello lovelies, I am discussing old Hollywood Starlet Jayne Mansfield and her favorite perfumes. Jayne Mansfield was an American film, theatre and television actress who was a sex symbol in the 1950s an early 1960s. She was considered a rivalry to Marilyn Monroe and well known for her well-publicized personal life publicity stunts and wardrobe malfunctions. Jayne Mansfield died in a tragic car accident at the age of 34 in 1967. She is known for wearing the perfumes Arpege Perfume, Lanvin My Sin, Schiaparelli Shocking Perfume.

Arpège is a 1927 perfume by Lanvin. It is considered to be one of the world’s classic scents. The fragrance has been referred to as the “fragrance of 1000 flowers,” and its official name is a derivation of the musical term arpeggio. The perfume contains some 60 floral essences.

Lanvin My Sin was created back in 1924 by a mysterious Russian lady called “Madame Zed,” who worked on several more Lanvin fragrances. This feminine, provocative, and dangerously seductive fragrant composition begins with aldehydes, bergamot, lemon, clary sage and neroli.

Shocking by Schiaparelli was created by Jean Carles and launched in 1936 in France and 1937 in the USA. The perfume was said to be “first developed by Mme. Schiaparelli for her own use” according to a 1938 newspaper ad. It was named after a particular shade of hot pink that she called, “Shocking Pink,” which was also used by designer Paul Poiret, her mentor. Main notes, aldehydes, Calabrian bergamot, estragon, raspberry, gardenia, syringa, magnolia, rose, honey, oriental rose, jasmine, carnation, ylang-ylang, narcissus, incense, cedar, Singapore patchouli, vetiver, Yugoslavia oakmoss, vanilla, musk, amber, cloves, civet
