Dress c/o Loco Lindo
Dress c/o Loco Lindo
How cute is this Rita Hayworth inspired floral dress from Loco Lindo! I honestly feel so free and comfortable in this dress because of the 100% French Rayon Crepe fabric that feels like a dream. There are so many beautiful details about this dress like the string tie at the waist that allows you to cinch in the waist as much as you like, and the sleeves also have ruching detail. I have had a hard time finding dresses that are the right length on me because most of them are too short and I love that this one falls just below the knee for a vintage and feminine length. Every garment is made in Los Angeles with care and detail.
I feel like I could wear this dress running errands in the summer or dressed up to go out at night.I enjoyed reading an interview with the designer, and I thought I would share it on here because it made me appreciate the story behind Loco Lindo.
WE THOUGHT WE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD
Linda Marrone: Dressmaker, designer, C.E.O.
Passions: Colorful prints, patterns & textures. Vintage/retro & current fashion design, Pinterest, home, family & friends, pets & plants, good food, music & dance, sun & fun!!
The Past, Present, future…the choice is yours!
I think it’s wonderful that today there are no rules in fashion. Find your niche and go with it. Have fun. Combine old & new, designer with street, mix it up!! Create your own personal style.
Dressing the Ladies: First, we find the silhouettes that are flattering to your body shape. Then, we have fun by changing out the prints, layering solids or just keeping it simple with a dress. Voila, you are ready to leave the house.
Comfort is key: We are the happiest and feel the prettiest when we are comfortable. I design primarily in 100% Rayon Viscose Crepe because it is a natural fabric that breathes. It drapes beautifully, melts to your shape and is super flattering.
Everyday Vintage Inspired: I think about our busy lifestyles and know we want the same things out of our clothing. We want clothes that take you from work to special occasions, to travel, cooking, dancing, picking up the kids at school. There is a classic quality that lasts through the years and simply gets updated with a new accessory or pant or sweater, even a new lipstick color.
A little Loco lore: This will date me, but I think that you would like to know that in the ‘70’s I was in the first clean air car race from Boulder, Colorado to Boston, Massachusetts. Yes, the technology was available back then. We were concerned about our foods being natural. We bought things “made in the USA.” We thought we could change the world. So in our small way we did. Loco Lindo, was founded in our kitchen. It’s a play on words for ‘pretty crazy” or “crazy Linda.” My husband, Fred and I wanted to create garments made locally. I choose rayon so we could prewash the garments to reduce shrinkage and allow the customer to wash them at home or while traveling. Your garments will come in natural boxes with recycled pattern paper and tissue.
Enjoy, and have a Loco Day!
