I was so excited when I received the new Lash Paradise mascara from L’Oreal because it isn’t available in Canada until May 30th. It is known to be a Too Faced Better than Sex drug store beauty dupe, so I was excited to compare the two. I went down to Sephora and tried on the Too Faced mascara to see how it matches up to the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara. The first thing I noticed is that the packaging is very similar both being a metallic pink color. The Too Faced version is bigger in size and has more weight to it compared to the L’Oreal version. I then opened the mascara to compare the wands, and I noticed that they were indetical with the same hourglass shape. I also noticed that they both has very dense bristles.

Going into Sephora, I had already tried the Lash Paradise mascara several times, so I was familiar enough with the look and feel of the product to compare it to the Too Faced version. Upon my first application of the Lash Paradise mascara, I noticed how full and thick my lashes looked in just one stroke. They looked super thick and feathered similar to eyelash extensions. I was considering getting some eyelash extensions, but after trying this mascara, I think I will pass because it gives such a dramatic look perfect for photos.

I am always skeptical of high-end mascaras because I am not convinced that they are any different to the drugstore versions. For the most part, I use drugstore mascara because I like the results and the price is right. After trying the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, I must say that I did not see a significant difference compared to the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. They both gave my lashes dramatic volume and length with the same results. My verdict is to save your money and buy the L’Oreal version for half the price.
