Hello lovelies, today I will be talking about vintage make up foundations you can still buy today.

Foundation was first invented in 1914 by Max Factor. He introduced “Pan-Cake makeup,” which was the first makeup created for the film. Instead of having to put an oil-based product that was then set with powder, Pan-Cake could be directly applied to the skin with a wet sponge. It was a more lightweight formula that was more natural-looking, leading everyday women to want to wear it in public. The original formula he developed is still sold today!

1.Max Factor Pan-Cake Makeup:

The original Max Factor Pan-Cake Makeup Chosen by many movie makeup artists to help flawless fashion faces – help veil skin imperfections. Moisture enriched for a silky-smooth, soft matte finish. Water-activated formula gives you great control to cover as much or as little as you wish.

2.Max Factor Pan Stik:

Preferred by Hollywood starlets in the 1940s and ’50s, Max Factor® Pan-Stik was the first makeup developed especially for the technicolor film. Conveniently packaged in a tube, Max Factor’s Pan-Stik is easily applied with fingertips or sponge applicator (not included), and its creamy texture blends for a smooth, flawless look. It provides non-greasy pinpoint coverage for brown spots and under-eye circles and can be applied as an all-over foundation.

3.Max Factor Creme Puff:

Max Factor Crème Puff Powder Compact adds a touch of luxury to your skin as a medium to high coverage powder make-up with a flawless matte finish.

4.Solitaire Cake Makeup:

Many of our grandmothers knew the secret to a flawless-looking complexion came in the form of Solitair cake makeup. It still holds today, as this powdery makeup, which was popular in the 1940s and beyond, forms the perfect base that not only covers up imperfections and lasts all day but also evens out your skin tone. For best results, apply wet or dry with our reusable silk-sea sponges, preferred by professional makeup artists.

5.Tangee Cream-To-Powder Foundation:

For generations, the Tangee brand was America’s favorite lipstick, blush, and face powder. The reason? These tried-and-true beauty products complimented a woman’s complexion naturally, without that “painted on” or over-done appearance of so many cosmetics. Today, Tangee Cream to Powder Foundation joins our exclusive collection. Thoroughly modern and easy to apply, it goes on creamy smooth and then quickly dries to a soft, matte finish. You’ll enjoy full coverage that lasts. And your skin will look flawless! It comes in a classic black mirrored compact with a washable applicator sponge that fits in the top of the compact.

6.Posner Foundation:

Posner was introduced in the 1940s as a full line of fashionable, wearable, moderately priced cosmetics and hair care that offered African American women a wide array of cosmetic colors to match, complement, and enhance ethnic skin tones. With its evolution of unique formulations and an ever-changing spectrum of fashionable colors, Posner has since become the brand of choice for generations of women of color.

7.Mehron Makeup StarBlend Cake:

Founded in 1927 in the theater district in New York City, Mehron continues its strong tradition of being proudly made in the USA with the highest quality ingredients. Pro-artists praise Mehron for high-impact, highly pigmented, long-wearing cosmetics that perform under the most intense conditions. From Hollywood to Broadway, Mehron can be found at the most visually dramatic productions, including fashion shows, photoshoots, theatrical events, movie sets, and hundreds of internet and TV productions.

8.DuBarry Flatter-Glo Foundation:

Light coverage foundation makeup. FlatterGlo will give your skin a natural glow, covering beautifully without masking. It contains light oils, a perfect blend for all complexions. The right makeup, used correctly, can enhance or highlight your natural beauty.

Founded in 1903, DuBarry is not only the oldest cosmetics and skincare brand in the United States, but it was also the first. This pioneering spirit has guided DuBarry throughout its over-100 year tenure in the cosmetics industry, making it one of the leaders in beauty and skincare. At its peak popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, it was more popular than some of today’s top brands, and now this leader in the beauty industry is poised to once again make a name for itself thanks to its longtime loyal followers and a renewed commitment to reaching out to potential customers.

9.Ponds Angel Face:

Pond’s Angel Face is a fine, light face powder with a pinkish-white glow suitable for all skin types. It keeps the skin looking and feeling fresh, produces an excellent matte effect, and prevents greasy shine.

Pond’s Angel Face Compact Make-up first appeared in 1946. It sold well all through the 1950s as a ‘powder and foundation in one’. By 1958, it was available in eight shades (Natural, Ivory, Pink, Tawny, Bronze, Blushing, Golden, and Tan).

In 1959, the product was reformulated with ‘cosmetic-silicones’ and now came in nine ‘fashion co-ordinated colors’ which were much the same as before (Natural Angel, Ivory Angel, Pink Angel, Tawny Angel, Bronze Angel, Blushing Angel, Golden Angel, Tan Angel, and Deep Tan Angel). Previously, Angel Face shades had been based on skin tones, but now they were also matched with clothing, the idea being that Angel Face would enable skin tones to be changed to coordinate with any fashion color.
