Last week Andrew and I stayed at The Burrard Hotel for two nights while attending Vancouver Fashion Week. As you know I am a huge fan of all things vintage so I was super excited to stay at this hotel. The Burrard first opened its doors in 1956 which was the same year that Elvis Presley had his first hit single “Heartbreak Hotel.” The Burrard has since gone through a massive renovation while keeping the original vintage flare of the hotel and adding modern amenities. We took so many photos during our stay at The Burrard so I decided to break up my posts into a series of three. Today’s post features the amazing original sign still on the outside of the hotel on Burrard Street as well as the beautiful retro courtyard. This courtyard is perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing because there is an amazing seating area with a giant umbrella to cover you from the sun or rain as well as a hot coal pit to keep you warm on a cooler evening.
