When I was growing up in Victoria I always had this dream of one day moving to a big city like New York or L.A. When I was 25 I was given the opportunity to move to L.A. for a fashion design internship. This was a dream come true for me. I couldn’t wait to spend the summer living in a city I fantasized about as a child. At the end of the summer I went home on the plane staring out the window into the sunset. At that moment in time I realized that L.A. isn’t that  amazing city you see in the movies. I think Kramer’s quote from Seinfeld sums up my experience.

“What do you want me to say? That the things haven’t worked out the way that I planned? That I’m struggling, barely able to keep my head above water? That L.A. is a cold place even in the middle of the summer? That it’s a lonely place even when your stuck in traffic at the Hollywood Freeway? That I’m no better than a screenwriter driving a cab, a starlet turning tricks, a producer in a house he can’t afford? Is that what you want me to say? “

These photos are beautiful! I love all the sunflowers in the background, and you can never go wrong with a striped top and a flared skirt.

I love LA, but I’ve grown up here so I’ve had a very different experience. I can definitely see how others wouldn’t find it as inviting. Victoria looks beautiful, though!

sorry to hear that the city didn’t turned out to be as cool as you thought it will be….big cities can be a bit aliening…everything has its flaws and advantages. People often highlight only the advantages of living in a bit city …and there are many disadvantages for sure. I think the largest city I ever lived in was Palermo and that only for a short time….I’ve lived in almost all the major Croatian cities but they’re all relatively small…

Anyhow, you do look so lovely sweetie! Great outfit!

Oh I hear you and I understand. Sometimes the places that are meant to be the most beautiful, the ones we dream upon and wish to live in, sometimes they are the opposite of how we imagine them to be. We should never regret though— everything is a learning experience.

What a lovely sunflower field. I’d take the quiet country road over the bustling city any day ๐Ÿ™‚

This place where you had that photo shooting is incredibly beautiful and attractive. I simply adore sunflowers, they are so joyous and gorgeous! When I see sunflowers I instantly recall the depiction of Van Gogh with a vase of sunflowers.
Those photographs turned out so great, I’m impressed;)
