On Saturday afternoon Andrew and I went to The Fairmont Empress to experience the festive afternoon tea. I have been for afternoon tea once before the hotel went through a massive renovation and I must say that I loved all of the improvements and added details. I liked how you can see all of the different tea selections in a wooden booklet with samples of the tea on the left. Another added feature was mini sand timers to get the perfect amount of time needed to steep your tea. I also loved that all of the teapots are heated at the table with mini tea lights. After we had at least three pots of tea and couldn’t eat any more treats we lounged by the fire and enjoyed our festive cocktails. My favourite part of the afternoon tea was the fantastic atmosphere and phenomenal customer service. I felt like I had afternoon tea fit for the Queen. If you haven’t experienced the newly renovated Empress Hotel, I would highly recommend checking out the Festive afternoon tea.
