I recently designed two necklaces using the app Jevelo. For those of you who don’t know Jevelo is an app where you can turn images that you love into unique custom necklaces. You can create your own unique silver necklaces from precious memories and things you love. Jevelo is a nordic brand using traditional and modern methods of design and production. The founder Kristian Saarikorpi is a master goldsmith who hand inspects and finishes every piece of jewellery. To get started all you need is an inspiration in the form of an image that can be saved to your phones camera roll. The Jevelo app is its own community where you can save all of your designs and share them with friends and family. Users can also purchase any of your designs and get it delivered in 2 – 3 weeks. For my necklaces I decided to do a quote by Marie Antoinette on one of them and a photo of Boots and I on the other necklace. Marie Antoinette is one of my favourite movies because it is so visually stunning and full of beautiful eye candy. I wanted to have a necklace of Boots and I because I feel like he has become my blog mascot over the years and it just seemed fitting to have him engraved on my necklace. I made these two illustrations before I designed my two necklaces and they turned out to be a great source of inspiration for my final designs.

The design process was super easy and all I had to do was save my images to my camera roll on my iPhone. I looked on Pinterest for the scripted quote and then played around with different fonts and saved my final image to my camera roll. After I designed my necklace I was able to view it in 3D on the app which really helped me decide on the layout and final design. You have the option to choose between different pendant shapes as well as engraved or a cut-through style. Once I  submitted my designs I only had to wait two weeks to get both my necklaces in the mail with cute envelopes for each necklace. My necklaces looked exactly like the 3D models on the app and the over all quality of the metal and engraving was beautifully done. I would highly recommend Jevelo if you are looking for a unique one of a kind gift for a loved one or just something special for yourself.
