I remember going to Disneyland for the first time with my family when I was seven years old. We drove all the way down there during the summer in a minivan with no air conditioning. This was my first time going to California, and I was so excited to go to Disneyland. I grew up watching all of the Disney movies, some of my favorites were Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. My mom read a book about how to survive Disneyland, and it said to go on all of the big rides early in the morning to beat the lines this way you don’t have to stand in line for hours in the hot sun. The first ride we went on was Splash Mountain, and I remember listening to my parents screamed in terror when we went down the final drop. I have been to Disneyland three times once more when I was in high school on a school trip and again when I was 25 while I was living in LA for an internship. I hope I can go back again soon with Andrew to experience all of the magic together. I love the Disney charms on my bracelet because they remind me of Andrew. We both have nicknames for each other; he calls me Minnie, and I call him Mickey. I can’t remember how or why it started, but I like it because it also rhymes with my cat Pinky. I even got a matching collar for Pinky with two cute cat-themed charms. One of the charms is a silver paw print, and the other is a cat-shaped charm. I want to add a few of the Disney charms to his collar so we can both have matching Disney sets.
