Fairmont Empress Willow Steam Spa Refresh
Last week Andrew and I visited the newly renovated Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Empress. The spa now has an expanded lounge with a fireplace, updated nail salon, and a beautifully designed retail area as well as refreshed treatment rooms.
To complement the revitalized space, the Willow Stream Spa has made a commitment to featuring an extensive menu of local treatments and services including:
– Dried lavender bouquets from the Damali Winery in the Cowichan Valley will be displayed on all treatment beds
– The West Coast Hot Rock Massage will feature basalt stones harvested on Vancouver Island
– The Honey Ginger Elixir treatment features honey from the Empress’ honeybees.
I went to experience the new Seaweed treatment at Willow Stream Spa.

The first step was to apply my head wrap before the body scrub
Sitting up to get my back scrubbed and applying seaweed
Seaweed on my back and then I lied back down for the rest of my scrub and body wrap

Getting all wrapped into my cocoon while I receive a scalp massage
Feeling so relaxed after my massage and wrap it was time to rinse off all of the product and clean myself with seaweed used for the treatment. I found it very invigorating to clean myself with the seaweed, and I got to take some home afterward.
A unique shower that sprays from the side instead of the top, this way you don’t get your hair wet
Before or after your treatment you can lounge in the mineral pool and steam room or hang out in the relaxation lounge.
