Andrew and I went to the Saanich Fair on Saturday night to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and eat some junk food. I wasn’t going to go on any rides but this random family gave me the rest of their tickets so I decided to go on this vintage carousel. I felt kind of funny riding it because everyone else on the ride was 5 years old besides me. Every time a kid passed their parents they would smile and wave and I would do the same thing when I passed Andrew. It was pretty funny and I felt like I was going back in time to my childhood when I would wave at my parents every time I passed them on a ride. The little girl sitting on the horse next to me kept looking at my cotton candy the entire time and was striking up a conversation with me.

One of my parents heritage apartment buildings caught fire over the weekend and a photo of the fire made the front page of the Times Colonist yesterday. I was pretty shocked when my parents told me and I almost didn’t believe them until I saw the damage for myself. Everyone in the building had to move out and a large portion of the house has to be gutted due to water damage and the apartment with the fire is completely destroyed. Apparently the fire department almost couldn’t stop the fire because the smoke and flames had gotten so large they were at the point of seriously risking their own lives. Luckily no one got severely injured and my parents have insurance. The only sad part is a grey cat died in the fire and I used to take blog photos with him.

These pictures are lovely, the carousel too! I loved your top and you look beautiful in jeans and oh, the girl looking at the cotton candy – she must have thought “I hope my parents allow me to eat sugar” πŸ™‚ As many parents don’t. I hope she got one! It’s so sad that the fire destroyed the flat, but good that no one was badly injured. Sad for the cat πŸ™ I am taking photos with cats of friends and I can imagine how sad it is πŸ™
