Hello lovelies, today I will be discussing Midge Maisel’s favorite beauty products from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Miriam “Midge” Maisel is a housewife in the late 1950s and early 1960s New York City who discovers she has a knack for stand-up comedy and pursues a career in it. Miriam “Midge” Maisel was born Miriam Weissman to father, Abe Weissman, and mother, Rose Weissman. She is the wife of Joel Maisel and the mother of their two children, Ethan, and Esther Maisel. Before she married Joel, she went to college and earned a degree in Russian literature, although her primary goal in going to school was to find a husband. In the Pilot episode, an early hint of her latent comedic talent is shown when she drunkenly improvised a set on the spot, displaying the unfiltered wit she would later forge her career from.
Midge Maisel’s Favorite Beauty Products:
In 1934, Coty secured the exclusive rights to a new manufacturing process using air-powered micronized. This process improved Coty’s face powders and, just as importantly, gave them a new marketing angle. From now on, their powders would be marketed as ‘Air Spun.’
Revlon Lipsticks:
Midge Maisel loved to wear Revlon lipstick, and her favorite colors were Fire and Ice as well as Cherries in the Snow.
Midge loved the scent of roses and used this rose-scented perfumed body powder on a regular basis.
Midge’s favorite eye shadow was Jade green by Max Factor.
Midge loved Ponds Angel face and would use the powder regularly. She loved the soft powder to cream finish. In 1946, Pond’s introduced their Angel Face compact powder in five shades. As a powder-cream, it was applied with a puff rather than with the wet sponge. A mirror case model, introduced in 1950, later completed the package and sold well.
Midge’s signature scent was the perfume, Miss Dior.
Miss Dior was the original perfume presented in the salon of Christian Diorby invitation only to his customers, at 30 Avenue Montaigne a few days after saint Catherine’s celebration, on the 17th December 1947.
Midge used cold cream to remove her makeup at night and moisturize her skin. Queen Helene Cleansing Cream gives sensitive skin the ultimate clean. A lush cleansing cream that is triple-whipped, soft, and fluffy and quickly absorbs skin impurities. Professionals specially formulated this cream for professional use. Just massage a generous amount into the skin and remove with a washcloth to gently clean away residue and reveal a healthy, youthful glow.
Olay Beauty fluid started in 1952 and was a classic anti-aging treatment in the 1950s and 1960s. The beauty fluid was very rich and moisturizing because it contains lanolin. Midge used Olay Beauty Fluid every evening after she applied her cold cream.
Midge liked the finer things in life and loved Mason Pearson Hair Brushes because they are considered the Ferrari of hairbrushes.
Aqua Net is a hair spray brand notable for its popularity and for its marketing strategy, which aimed to make hair spray “as ubiquitous as soap.” The brand is known for its distinctive sizeable purple spray cans, and the spray itself is known for its stronghold and unique smell. Aqua Net was invented in the 1950s, and Midge used it to style her hair.
